Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Today’s post is about the nine cherry tree blossom trees that I planted in Winter this year in one of our front gardens, The Cherry Tree Avenue. I did not expect to see much blossom this year, but as you will see from the photos, they have not disappointed, even in their first year here!
This is a photo-rich post. Enjoy 🙂
The Cherry Tree Avenue
If you are a new reader (or you would like to look back on how The Cherry Tree Avenue has changed since 2023/4), you can read the blog post about that here:
As a reminder, after being planted in January 2025, and once the trees lost their leaves, they were looking like this:

They sat like this for months, and I was starting to worry they hadn’t taken well! That worry was for nothing though, because over the month of April 2025, the trees have slowly started to leaf out and blossom. They are currently still blossoming beautifully:

Each year, these cherry trees should continue to mature, and I can imagine that the display of blossom is going to be even better when each tree has grown bigger!
These trees are upright in growth pattern and should form graceful vase shapes. The variety is ‘Amanogawa’, which I wrote a detailed post about here:
Plant in focus: ‘Amanogawa’ cherry tree
That’s all for today. I started sowing fruit and vegetable seeds today, which I will show you next week!
Until then, happy gardening 🙂
